is obtained at 1/3 retard position, i.e. even this governor, although an improvement of the previous one, does not give the right characteristics for full power all the way up the scale with the ignition lever set at the top of the quadrant.

(e) Although test (e) shews no appreciable difference in power output when using gravity feed as compared with the mechanical pump system as fitted to the car, the petrol delivery figures indicate that we are very near the border line and probably on occasions starving will take place, (1/4" dia. petrol pipe was fitted throughout the car during tests).
