Continental Phantom

Attached are road performance and power curves for the Continental Phantom as compared with the present standard production Phantom.

The acceleration curves given for the standard Phantom were obtained on Brooklands on chassis No 98NK fitted with a standard Barker touring body, weighing complete 2.5 tons. Those given for the Continental Phantom were obtained on chassis 17EX fitted with a test kit and ballasted to weigh 2.08 tons which represents approximately the weight when fitted with the light sports type body. The high speed acceleration figures will probably improve with the fitting of the body; the maximum speed obtained when fitted with the test kit being 82 M.P.H.

The curve given for power at road wheels for the average Phantom is the average of many curves obtained recently on the production dynamometer.

The third chart indicates the power differences due to alteration in compression ratio.
