X4704 To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} from Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux}15/KW.13.3.34. 29-EX - Vulture. The engine started up without any trouble, but after running for a minute, stopped and would not start again. The float chamber was empty and the flow looked slow. On inspecting the Petrol Filter, I found it was very dirty, and a thick white jelly formed around the plates. There was also a quantity of water. After cleaning filter and float chamber the flow was much better, and the engine ran quite well for 80 miles, then faded out and refused to start. This time I discovered that only one petrol pump was working occasionally, and then stopping. The supply was sufficient to drive the car at about 20 M.P.H. For the last 90 miles the one pump seemed to get alright and I was able to proceed at higher speeds. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} | ||
