R.R. 755 (10M) (SL 72 18-7-23) MP 274954s. COMPLETED 17.10.23. STANDARDISATION of CHASSIS PARTS. Date 26.9.23. No. 3595 Description of Parts. CANCELLING EXHAUST CUT-OUT. Origin: To avoid unnecessary fitting for large number of cars. Experimental Test Report. The proposal is that the exhaust cut-out should only be fitted when requested. Not having the cut-out - avoids having the slot in floor-boards - avoids a source of rattles, and possible source of exhaust fumes getting into the body. Road Test Report. We suggest cut-outs are undesirable on covered cars. The advantage in power is only apparent above 50 m.p.h. Adopted by Springfield.
