The dumb iron fits in the frame only on its bolt bosses. These bolts are reamed bolts. Due to the springs being outside the frame a different technique for the rear shackle has to be evolved compared with Wraith II. It is intended that the dumb irons be bolted in the frame and then the rear cross member is inserted and welded in position. The pin to carry the rear shackle is not intended to be a tight fit in the dumb iron. The pin stem is turned and the hole in the dumb iron merely drilled.
