on the untarred roads of Austria and Hungary, and there is no doubt it is not satisfactory to have only one spare wheel under these conditions. There is no option but to find the nearest garage and get an immediate repair carried out, which is not easy to do in remote districts. A useful precaution would be to carry a spare tube to enable one to re-shoe by the road side in the case of a second puncture.

The steering on 6-B-1V required too great an effort on corners, and would undoubtedly be criticised in this respect. I tried Slaeter's 4¼ litre Demonstration car in Paris fitted with the ultra light body, and found the steering very light indeed. 6-B-1V may improve with running in but there appears to be room for a certain amount of investigation on this matter.

No trouble was experienced with the petrol system although temperatures of over 30°C were at times experienced. The car however was never in the mountains at the same time as the temperature was high.

The engine smoothness on the rubber mounting was at all times remarkably good, and Slaeter, who tried the car in Paris, agreed that a 6 cylinder engine under such conditions is as smooth as one requires.
