Contd. -2- that they should be supplied not through such a fuse. We already have it that the starter relay current does not pass through the ammeter (it only passes through the main battery fuse) and now PN.{Mr Northey} asks that cigar lighting currents should not pass through the ammeter - not that the amount of current will hurt the ammeter, but he considers an over-reading from the ammeter undesirable owing to the fact that many owners might feel nervous as to what was happening. With this we are disposed to agree. The body lighting current, however, we consider should pass through the ammeter. The whole arrangement which appears to us right and logical is as follows :- The first five connections on the main distribution board being as at present, viz. two for the dynamo, one for the ignition and two for the road lights, there is one, No.6, available for lighting or other loads which are incorporated on the standard system, e.g. thermometer, warning lamp, and green lamp (if used). It is considered that the accessory distribution box be rearranged to have two of its points common and one separate and that it should be supplied by two wires, one from each of the two ammeter terminals (or corresponding points 6 and 8 on the main distribution board, according to convenience) in such a way that two of the fuses will be supplied through the ammeter (from the battery) and one will be supplied not through the ammeter.
