to carry the oil film, the silk being only like an open gauze, but the silk is much stronger, and if not much dearer, should be far better to handle.

I fear it will not be wise to get 2 electrodes and 2 dielectrics in one strip for winding round a small radius, but you would get on better with strip of 1 dielectric and 1 electrode; this also will allow of inserting the connecting strips.

You will notice that in our design the thin sheet metal (brass) case is large and hence flexible and in constantly squeezed by a strip of spring steel so that good contact will always be maintained inside, between the various connectors and a good earth connection on the outside.
