Further in regard to your oil cooler difficulties, et cetera, enclosed please find our blue prints D-1992 and D-2232. The first print shows the design of the stiffening side plate which you will see conforms to the shape of the hexagon of the tubes. In our preliminary work we found that the flat side plate breathed quite extensively and this was stiffened by going thru the plate as shown on the D-1992 drawing. Merely folding this plate was found to be insufficient and these plates are now coined.

On the second drawing a red circle has been drawn around the joint between the stiffening side plate and the end tank. You will see that the end tank laps over the side plate. We found this was very beneficial indeed.

Upon the occasion of your Mr. Day's visit here, presented him with some oil cooler tubes and upon examination these will be found to have an appreciably long hex. We found that this increase in surface assisted in the solder joint very materially.

If there is any further information which we can give you, please feel free to call upon us.

Yours very truly
