Canteen for Clan Foundry.

Owing to the distance from Belper Assembly rooms, being 15 minutes to the Clan Foundry, the question of using their canteen facilities are off.

Enquiries as to the running of the Canteen at the Assembly rooms show the following :-

(1) They are serving meals to 98 people daily.

(2) The Staff (5) are paid by Rolls Royce.

(3) The food supplies meat & veg. come from R.R.

(4) Prices compare with the works canteen.

There is ample table room for 120 but the kitchen space is poor and equipment is limited.

Field House.

Arrangements have been made to feed 40 people using the kitchen in the house, the cook is paid by R.R. and supplies are obtained direct from the shops, they are registered with the food controller.

Eating arrangements are Nil dinners being eaten in the offices. The kitchen is taxed to capacity.

Hucknall.

This is a first class canteen, very good building, excellent cooking equipment, kitchen and stores, managed by a Mr. Catchpole an exceedingly live wire, and who was very helpful in suggestions with regard to a suitable canteen for Clan.

They feed 300 daily in relays and the canteen functions the whole of the 24 hours.
