6021. To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to BY/RD. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs}18/JH.17.8.37. Acid-Resisting Coating of Battery Boxes. In connection with the search for a cheaper but reliable method of protecting battery boxes, against acid attack, you recently sent two boxes a p.III and a Bentley type, to the Metallisation Co. These we understand were to be lead sprayed on the inside surfaces only, but extending over the edges, and down the outer surfaces for a distance of half an inch. We have so far only received the Phantom box in a treated condition, and this on inspect we find has not been coated to the half inch depth as agreed . We would like this point to be cleared Before we commence tests. RM{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/RC.{R. Childs} | ||
