15th October, 1929.

Dear Sirs,

Attention of Mr. Rowbotham - Experimental Dept.

With reference to our letter of the 11th, we have pleasure in giving herewith copy of the tests we have made with various Apparatus, using the Rolls-Royce Suction Pump.

The first test was made with the Apparatus as supplied to you, and we found the weight of the floats about 86 grammes.

For the second test we used the same mechanism, but the float was allowed to slide up and down a loose stem, and an inner tank 5" long was used instead of the one 3.9/16".

In the third test we used the same inner tank and mechanism as with No. 2 test, but a smaller diameter and longer float was used. This float was fixed - not allowed to slide.

In the fourth test, everything was the same as in No. 1, except that the float was weighted to 139 grammes.

The output from No. 3 test could be improved, as the inner tank would stand a float of smaller diameter, and longer.

Yours faithfully,
For AUTOVAC MFTG. CO. LTD.

S. Hoyle
Manager.
