| To RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} +NO Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.4/KW.14.9.35. Radiator Shutters - Bentley. One of the troubles which has always been experienced with radiator shutters on R.R. cars, and Bentleys in particular, is that of rattles, and we wish to try the scheme for spring loading the shutters shown on attached drawing Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2083. The essentials of the scheme are endwise spring loading of the shutters, and pivot bearings approximating to point bearings in very hard material, with a view to keeping friction and wear to a minimum. The scheme was originally done for the 20/25 car, so it has been necessary to pencil alter piece numbers on the attached drawing. We should like to get this scheme on the radiator for 6-B-IV.
