Claims for this principle applied to aircraft engines were also made, so that the C.R. could be increased at high altitudes with a reduction in consumption, and Mr. Bradburn considered that it could be easily applied to a sleeve valve engine, but also to a 4 valve O.H.V. engine by fitting the control piston in the side of the head.

The fitting to the engine demonstrated was in the nature of a mock up, and although a special head had been cast, the bearing brackets and connecting rods were brass castings with no provision for lubrication, but if the principle is sound, a good design with proper lubrication and enclosed to protect from dirt could easily be produced.

Attached is a rough diagrammatic sketch of the arrangement.

I think a dash-pot would be required.
