- 2 - Brake Actuating Shaft Mechanism. An additional oil supply had been fitted to GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} instruction to the long bearing on Brake Carrier Plate to overcome customers' complaint of brakes seizing - this was not a success, no oil had got through. It would appear annular grooves to pick up oil supply will have to be provided to make the scheme work. Rear Hubs and Drums LOP.G.54619. Condition :- Drums G.55630. were deeply grooved and worn to the extent of .050 diameter. Front Axle, Brakes and Hubs. Front Axle - condition Good. Front Brakes - condition Good. Front Hubs and Drums - Drums faces rusty. Front Spring Rear Anchorage Brackets J.lll Type. NS.{Norman Scott}3339 - 3207. All parts in good condition; crack tested and found O.K. Front Springs and Fittings (Low Rated). Condition - Good. O.S. Bijur oil pipes had broken off at nipples, probably due to greater movement of spring leaf than was anticipated. A slightly longer pipe will overcome this, also a slight modification to oil grooves would improve the job - Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LES.{Ivan A. Leslie} is dealing with this. Pressure Pipe Line. Failures had occurred on both front pressure pipe lines 3" from the dampers. Front Axle Control. Condition - Lack of oil on all bearings. Spindle rusty and signs of picking up. Herewith chart Ex.I.135. showing measurements after 9,485 miles. Front Roll Rod. NS.{Norman Scott}4803. Condition - Good. after 9.485. miles. Steering Column and Box. LOP.F.61081. Box in Malleable Iron. Condition - Good. Bores checked and found O.K., also crack tested and found O.K. Side Steering Tube LOP.F.61087. Condition - Good. continued. | ||
