GRY{Shadwell Grylls} x 328 BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} Hdy.{William Hardy} E.8/HP.11.2.37. With regard to the radial slots in the helical wheels mounted on plain bushes in the Phantom III gearbox, I think these could be cut parallel instead of to the present taper form, thereby saving an extra operation on each slot, and there seems to be so little risk about the change that we might adopt it at once on production. We also think that these slots could be done away with entirely now, but this is a matter that will have to be decided, and an instruction will be sent through to this effect. If you are in agreement with this proposal would you kindly have the drawings altered accordingly. E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} | ||
