sleeve. When the starting shaft is moved for-
ward to engage with the engine it is released
from its own taper seat, and should then come
into engagement with a taper peg formed on or
carried by the starting jaw of the engine itself.

In addition to the above points! Mr. Royce
thought that the spring provided on the starting shaft was
rather too strong. A sketch is attached illustrating the
foregoing.
