and lock washer. This was run on chassis 10-G3. and no trouble was experienced. It had not the self-lubricating feature now proposed.

May we suggest the following two modifications :-

(1) The provision of a stainless steel pivot pin.
and (2) The provision of a hollow drilled therein to be filled with oil soaked felt, two small holes being provided in the barrel for the egress of oil to the working surface.

It would appear only to be necessary to put a drop of oil occasionally on the top of the pivot to maintain lubrication to the bearing.
