Copy to Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Derby xxxxxxxxxx 45406. 21st April, 1941. Ve/NP.3/CB. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Arm. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary}, Ministry of Aircraft Production, Millbank, LONDON, S.W.1. For the attention of Wing Commander Spreckley. Dear Wing Commander Spreckley, We are commencing trials with the Rolls-Royce gun installed in a Spitfire wing on our Range at Sinfin, to assess its characteristics under conditions prevailing when mounted in aircraft on the ground. As you are interested in its application for turrets we should be glad if you could arrange for us to be issued with a turret (a damaged one would do) in which we could do similar tests and check up on the feed at elevation and depression. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. (S.M. Viale) Chief Engineer, Armaments Division. | ||
