1158. Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Std.19/WH. 31st. October 1938. The Leyland & Birmingham Rubber Co. Ltd., Leyland, LANCS. For the attention of Mr.Gollop. Dear Sirs, Some time ago you sent us, in response to our request, some 3" diameter flexible rubber hose for car heater duct connections. This hose had a wire spiral inside it, and has been very unsatisfactory, since the wire comes loose from the rubber envelope and the hose collapses. This trouble was complained of in our letter of March 31st. Have you anything better to offer us or alternatively can you devise a means of securely fixing the wire in the rubber envelope ? We wish to be able to bend this hose through sharp angles without collapse occurring. We would like to hear from you on this subject at your earliest convenience. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
