To Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Copy to E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} RHC{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} Phantom III. Outside Petrol Fillers. As we have already informed you, it is proposed to fit the outside petrol filler LeC4850 to 36-EX and 37EX, and we have instructed the Coachbuilders to prepare themselves for the modifications to the body. We are awaiting the pieces to send to the Coachbuilders. Bentley. Sales are extremely anxious to standardise the outside petrol filler LeC4859 on the Bentley, and therefore we are anxious to get an early test. We have instructed the Coachbuilders to modify the coachwork of B 56 BN{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}, the all-steel body to suit this filler, and we are awaiting the necessary parts. A set of parts to an earlier design have been produced for 6 B 4. We suggest that these should not be used, but a fresh set of parts be produced to the latest design LeC4859 to be used on this car. Sales are hoping that it may be possible to use this external filler on the all-steel bodies which they have in hand, and the first of these will be available in March, the urgency therefore of testing this filler is apparent. Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Steadman - Have these parts been detailed and if so what is their position? Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} | ||
