Re. Servo Judders.

Further to your memo Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}12/JH.2.3.37, having satisfied ourselves that there was no slack in the brake cables we did as you asked and ran without star springs at all. Your suggestion that we should not get servo judders was not born out. Bad servo judders were experienced throughout the running. The star springs were therefore replaced and we were then unable to get a servo judder and they have not been experienced at all while star springs were fitted. They always occurred with the original thick washer between the star springs and with no star springs.
