RECEIVED 3 DEC 1930 HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} DM{D. Munro} C.Sec. c.Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} X4617. BY1/J.3.12.30. Brake Drums - 40/50 H.P.Chassis. -------------------------------------- Manganese steel is very difficult to produce in the form suggested as it is extremely hard to machine and tapping a thread in it is out of the question. We would suggest one of the new developments in Cast Iron heat treated to give a high brinell, a case- hardened steel or Nitralloy. For the experiment we have ordered similar material to present that is .6 Carbon Steel. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
