Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tsnl/AD13.11.29 contd. -3- However, we recommend the above lubrication scheme as safe and fool-proof. As a temporary expedient the following two modifications are being carried out on production :- (1) The four oil holes in the coupling shaft (2) A different type of inserted oil pipe at the oil hole in the coupling shaft (as shown in sketch). This is a taper fit on the shaft with metal peened over to retain it; it avoids the small saw cuts in the old type of pipe, and also avoids the necessity for sweating the pipe after it is inserted, with risk of blockage. Also, the clutches are now assembled with the ball bearings and the splines packed with grease. Previously they were merely oiled. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Tsn. | ||
