SHUTTER FRICTION.

We have been going into the question of reducing the amount of friction in the radiator shutters. We find that one of the greatest sources of trouble is in the parallel linkage operation, as shewn in the attached sketch. The link "A" is oppressing, and in practise the centres "B" of the little levers all vary sufficiently to stiffen up the shutters.

Actually, the simplest way to overcome this difficulty would appear to be to have slots in the link "A" for the pin bearings "C" of the little levers.
