Further to my recent communication re oil leaks from rear axles, I shall be glad to know if you have any data showing exactly what causes this.

Does the oil run along the axle shafts, or does it climb the baffle when the car is leaning or left standing in a tilted position? Or is it perhaps the effect of a rise in temperature creating pressure and the oily state of the axle casing forming a seal so that the pressure cannot escape?

This is certainly a most serious trouble here, and steps must be taken sooner or later to overcome it. Any helpful information which you can give me will be much appreciated.
