E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. BJ. c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 4426 BY1/H.{Arthur M. Hanbury - Head Complaints} 10. 10. 24. "EAGLE" IX REVISED INDUCTION SYSTEM. Referring to E1/M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} 8.10.24. we agree that the clearing up of the "Eagle" IX Induction Pipe would remove the biggest cause of complaint from the engine in question. The other troubles are very minor ones compared with the Induction System and Petrol Pipe breakages. I have very carefully considered your proposals as exemplified on the sketch attached to your memo quoted above, and consider that the proposals fully meet the requirements of the case, and in my opinion induction pipes built up in the manner you suggest would entirely eliminate the trouble. You do not indicate how you propose to deal with the petrol piping. It appears to me that you could revert to the present scheme of a fitting on the crankcase distributing to each carburetter, using all metal petrol connections with just an expansion bend in the pipe.
