Please receive herewith blueprint of the following :- G.CD.190 Modification to Front End of Stay Clutch Casing to Pedal Shaft. The Experimental Department report (ref. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}4/AP.16.9.37.) that excessive wear has taken place in the front eye (engine end) of the stay, which controls the pedal shaft in relation to the engine. The above scheme has, therefore, been produced to reduce the possibility of this fault occurring in the future. We shew a chilled BZ/PC bush used at each end of the stay instead of as on production at the rear end only. At present, the front end of the stay has its bearing on a mild steel stud; it will therefore be necessary to modify the stud in order to be able to use a bush in the front eye of the stay.
