Hanbury - Head Complaints} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} APC2/ADES.2.30. X. 7535. COMPLAINT OF CORROSION ON P & R BATTERY TERMINALS ON PHANTOM II CHASSIS. A complaint of corrosion on the terminals and bridge pieces of P & R batteries on Phantom II chassis was recently received from Sales. In our APC2/AER.7.2.30, copy of which we now attach to By's copy of this note, we outlined the circumstances in which this may have occurred, pointing out that the corrosion complained of was the temporary result of one modification fundamentally in the nature of an improvement showing up another fault which required rectification. We have today received a further note from PN.{Mr Northey} reference Pnl/WT22.2.30 containing the suggestion that a depot sheet might be sent out covering examination, and if necessary replacement of the lead coated brass washers of P & R.{Sir Henry Royce} Phantom II batteries, a copy of this note is attached for your information. Will you please take the necessary steps. Present production Phantom II chassis & P & R batteries will now have antimonial lead washers under the terminal nuts. AFC. | ||
