with vertical pins, which would be more perfect because an out of balance tyre would not affect the steering, but I have never seriously felt any ill-effect from this cause.

It is only necessary with our scheme, to lean the front pivots the correct amount, and be sure the back of the car is stable side-ways in both springs and tyres, to get the most perfect steering possible.
