To Csy from Rn{Mr Robinson}/EAG Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG.1/RH.{R. Hollingworth}13.2.41. TRIALS CAR - B.20 A.W. 107 70E 1021 Sliding Roof. This roof is noisy because the sliding panel is too large for the opening which caused the back of the sliding panel to rub against the edge of the body panel; also the locking cams which lift the roof appear to have been strained so that they will not operate correctly. The wedging action of the sliding panel also makes it difficult to open the roof. Angle of Seat Backs. The excessive slope on the seat backs is probably due to the depths of the springs in the spring case being incorrect. This could be corrected by fitting another spring case with deeper springs at the top and shallower springs at the bottom, or by padding. Attached is a blue-print showing the approximate shape as the seat is at present and dotted line in red showing the shape that it should be to give greater comfort. Draught at Bottom of Doors. 1. Particularly noticeable on the driving side. This appears to be caused through the draught tubing on the sill of the body not fitting closely to the door. 2. There is a small gap between the brake lever and the draught excluder. 3. The change speed lever gaiter does not fit closely to the floor and would be improved by having either a metal frame sewn in the flange of the gaiter and securely fixed to the floor, or a metal frame on top of the gaiter flange which could be screwed to the floor. The latter suggestion would be rather more difficult to remove for servicing but would make it definitely draught-proof. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/EAG. | ||
