Luber-finer
STARTS WHERE FILTERS STOP

ADD THOUSANDS OF MILES TO BOTH OIL AND ENGINE LIFE

Luber-finer is a genuine oil refiner that automatically and continuously refines, decolorizes, purifies and renews crankcase oil. Don't confuse Luber-finer with ordinary oil filters or oil strainers; such devices can't refine oil, they merely strain it. Luber-finer starts where filters stop.
Luber-finer employs the same scientific principles as are used by the world's largest manufacturers of new lubricating oils—namely ADsorption and ABsorption. Luber-finer's refining agent includes a coarse mesh, granular, chemically processed fuller's earth that was developed exclusively for Luber-finer. This type material has been used by refiners for years, for there is no other practical way or substitute. If any type fabric, whether chemically treated or not, could refine oil, the major oil refineries would have adopted its use years ago. Only by the use of fuller's earth can crankcase oil be refined, and its acidity, its dilution, its color and its colloidal impurities be controlled. Authority for these statements can be obtained from Bulletins of the U. S. Bureau of Standards of the U. S. Dept. of Commerce. Only Luber-finer can furnish new oil every mile, refined as you drive.

Remember, oil never wears out mechanically; that is why Luber-finer lets you use crankcase oil over and over again, and postpones periodic crankcase draining.
Luber-finer's powerful ADsorbent and ABsorbent refining agent prevents formation of primary oil contaminations, which in their secondary state would form carbon, waxes, gums, resins and other injurious substances, which hasten motor depreciation and cause engine inefficiency. With Luber-finer, no solid deposits can be formed on metal surfaces; motors operate at lower temperatures and less oil is consumed during operation.

Only Luber-finer offers all these advantages; yet the first cost of this genuine oil refiner is comparable to the average oil filter and its cost per mile is considerably less.
Luber-finer is transferable from motor to motor, it contains no moving parts, and there is nothing to wear out. The only maintenance expense is the occasional replacement of a refining pack.

The amazing advantages of Luber-finer are not limited to car, truck and tractor owners, for thousands of Luber-finers are effectively and economically installed on marine, natural gas, Diesel and other stationary engines. Complete information for all types of installations is available from your dealer. Every size Luber-finer operates on exactly the same refining principles; the only difference is the size and life of the refining pack.

LUBER-FINER'S REFINING PROCESS
Crankcase oil enters through the inlet metered orifice (A), filling the housing cylindrical space (B). Under normal pressure it flows through the refining pack perforated ends (C), through several layers and masses of fibrous filtering elements (D), such as are used in ordinary filters. At this stage Luber-finer has accomplished everything obtainable with the average oil filter. Luber-finer then starts where ordinary filters stop by actually refining the oil when it flows through the exclusive refining material (E), which removes deleterious colloidal products of combustion. This refining process is positively unobtainable with ordinary filters. After passing through several additional layers of protecting fibrous filtering elements (DD), which positively prevent migration of any impurities or refining material it then flows through the perforated collector cups (F), the central receiving tube (G), and a fine mesh wire cloth (H), thence back to the crankcase, with all the lubricating qualities of new oil. The by-pass valve (I), controls excessive pressures to which the pack may be subjected when over-saturated with impurities because of not being replaced at the proper time. It also allows warm oil to instantly flow through the Luber-finer during cold weather seasons. The manufacturer reserves the right to change models and specifications without further notice.

Model 299 is designed for use on trucks, tractors and stationary motors with crankcase capacities of 7 to 12 quarts. For engines with crankcase capacities exceeding 12 quarts this model can be used in multiple. Authentic reports of owners and operators reveal life of refining pack averages from 10,000 to 15,000 miles or equivalent operating hours.

Model 185 is for use on small trucks and passenger car motors with crankcase capacities up to 7 quarts. Life of refining pack of this model, estimated by averaging reports of thousands of owners, is approximately 10,000 to 15,000 miles.

Refining packs for all models are identical in specifications and construction, varying only in size.

Model 110 is primarily designed for use on small passenger car motors, but may be used on motors with crankcase capacities up to 7 quarts. Motorists can expect approximately 6,000 to 9,000 miles from the refining pack of this model. It has an ingenious patented lid{A. J. Lidsey}, permitting replacement of pack in a matter of seconds without the use of special tools.

Model 70 is also designed for use on small passenger car motors, but may be used on motors with crankcase capacities up to 7 quarts. Life of the refining pack is approximately 4,000 to 6,000 miles. It has the same type lid{A. J. Lidsey} construction as the Model 110. Its construction is such that it will replace factory filter installations and will fit most factory bracket mountings.
