Re: STUTZ CAR.

I have now been able to give this car a useful test.

The freedom from torque re-action and from overrun vibrations of the engine was most marked and altogether the car made a very good impression in spite of certain unsatisfactory features.

The acceleration appeared to be definitely superior to that of a Phantom although no actual time test was made. This was presumably due to lower gear ratio.

The car impresses one greatly with its stability and general ease of riding, although on certain types of road at certain speeds the front suspension appeared to be rather bumpy.

Steering was not at all liked, although it is practically completely free from road shock troubles it is very spongy and altogether lacks selectivity.

The brakes were definitely poor and pulled strongly to the nearside, but it is understood that these are in want of adjustment. The chief feature which was disliked so strongly about them was a complete lack of any progressive feeling when using them.
