1020a? Experimental Dept. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}9/MH.{M. Huckerby} 9th. June 1938. Messrs. Vandervell Products Ltd., Western Avenue, Park Royal, LONDON, W.3. For the attention of Mr.Johnson. Dear Sirs, In confirmation of our discussion yesterday during your visit to inspect the fitting of your strip main bearings, enclosed are prints of the BZ/PC bushes that we normally use in our rockers and connecting rod little ends, for which we should like quotation as follows:- EW.1410 rocker bushes produced in your strip steel backed whitemetal material in quantities of 1,000, 2,000 and 5,000. E.51375 little end bushes in your recommended material in quantities of 500, 1,000, and 2,000. For our trial will you please supply us with a dozen little end bushes and two dozen rocker bushes. We assume that as in the case of the main bearings allowance will be made on the diameter of the bushes to obviate reaming. Particularly in the case of the little end bushes is this important as if we have to ream, particles of metal get down into the rifle bored connecting rod which are very difficult to remove. The following are details of the bushes in question which you, no doubt, will require to fix your inside and outside diameters. EW.1410 Rocker bush is pressed into the rocker arm which has a bore of .750 and runs on a shaft .6225 dia. [Handwritten tolerances below values: for .750 are +2 and +1/2; for .6225 is -1] | ||
