-2- Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}1/JH.15.1.41. The Ve Vertical Feed The Ve Vertical Feed (See GPL.165) as at present designed is most suitable as it calls for no modifications to the shape of the fuselage. It is easy to load being fed from the top and above floor level. It would appear possible to carry 10 rounds in the magazine. The Ve Modified Vertical Feed in which the magazine is moved forward opposite the opening in the feed block, would be equally suitable for installation in the plane as the original scheme and from what we know of it so far it would appear to have no disadvantages. The best arrangement of this gun is with the loader and the gunner each on a seat on the rotating head of the mounting, one each side of the pedestal (See GPL.156) All this has been designed and much of it has been produced. B.U.S.M. Feed in Rear Position. This feed cannot be used with a seated loader because the round is introduced from the rear. It can be used with the original design of Power Mounting where the loader is not on the gun. The Gunner is seated Contd. | ||
