We carried out a dynamometer test on this gearbox.
The object was to get a preliminary idea as to whether the gearbox was badly overstressed.

We ran full torque including ten minutes on bottom gear, fifteen minutes 2nd. gear. There was no sign of trouble from either gearbox or the axle.

We shall take the first opportunity of stripping the gearbox and examining the teeth before carrying out further endurance tests.
