ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT ON 18.G.IV.
FOR 10,000 MILE TEST.

The following is a list of the special ignition and electrical features as now fitted to chassis 18.G.IV. -

(1) Wiring to LOP. D.52396.
(2) Experimental ignition coil to LOP. D.72503 but with 21,000 turns of 44 S.W.G. wire on the secondary winding.
(3) Modified ignition distributor with :-
(a) Lighter contact lever D.73344.
(b) Condenser to D.52453/4.
(c) Cam and high tension rotor to D.73370/71.
(d) Lubricated lever pivot.
(e) Bronze bush for advance and retard movement D.52763.
(f) Automatic advance altered to 35° range.
(4) Instrument board equipped with -
(a) Boyce empire electric clock.
(b) Watford 100 m.p.h. magnetic speedometer.
(c) Smith electric petrol level indicator gauge.
(5) Lucas high frequency grille type "Alto" horn fitted to front cross-member and wired up to auxiliary push button on the instrument facia board.
(6) Starter motor overhauled and brought up-to-date. Thicker cork washers fitted to the friction drive.
(7) Dynamo fitted to LOP. D.51733, D.51738. British carbon brushes fitted.
(8) Resistance unit to LOP. D.52385.
(9) Switchbox to LOP. D.51905 and distribution board to LOP. D.51907 fitted.
(10) Modified new Exide battery type 6-XSM7-IL fitted, with new metal battery box.
(11) Lucas new type windscreen wiper with tandem action.
