Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited, DERBY. FOR THE ATTENTION OF MR. WEST. 13th. May, 1937. Dear Sirs, In connection with the FS{F. Steele}22-N Dimmer Switches which you have been testing, and further to your letter of the 5th. instant, reference Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Wst.6/AP in which you state that one of the samples has failed on Endurance after 25,000 operations, and request some improvement in the contacts; we would inform you that this matter is receiving our serious consideration and every effort is being made to bring through three more switches with the contacts modified and made, we hope, in such a manner that will give a longer service. We shall not be able to bring these through before the Whitsun holidays as of course the spring makers have to make the necessary Jigs, to bring through the modified contacts, but please be assured we shall not loose any time on the job. Yours faithfully, JOSEPH LUCAS LIMITED. Technical Sales Department. | ||
