X701 I forwarded to the Sheffield Testing Works a few days ago a steering lever which Mr Platford had been testing on a car and which had been slightly bent. The following is the result of the test:- Yield point 28.79 tons per square inch. Maximum stress 36.99 " " " Elongation 22.5% The fracture of the lever is described as silky fibrous.
