Nov. 4th, the writer will then see these built up, having first checked the correction of the tubes and plates, and bring them back to Derby for test and examination.

If satisfactory, all coolers made in future, either new or reconditioned will be corrected in this manner.

Meanwhile, in order to reduce the number of potentially defective coolers going into service, it is desirable, for Repair depots to change as few hand soldered coolers as possible, until the final correct reconditioned or new coolers are available. Will Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} therefore, please instruct depots accordingly.

We have looked into the question of stock of coolers for production and find that there seven coolers only in the works at the moment and that these are only sufficient to bring production up-to-date. We have therefore asked Roy{Sir Henry Royce}/Mr.Wallace to instruct Marstons to supply a further ten coolers to last production for the next two to three weeks, during which period the above mentioned question should be settled and everything cleared up for producing new coolers and reconditioned hand soldered ones.
