(2) keen on this than I am on the balance weight experiment, although I think this could be carried out at the same time by using the crankshaft which had the original WW. scheme. Another feature which could be tried out at the same time is in connection with the brakes, which would consist of the stiffer ribbed brake drums, and we might obtain some further experience of the pivoted shoes, as I continue to believe that these will give more lasting satisfaction than the present type, and at least should not be worse for squeaks.
