contd :- -2- frequency of 4000 vibrations per min. in a shaft with a calculated frequency of 5000 per min. They have also got an Angle Vill. engine at Cambridge which they are running on gas. The composition of this gas was kept secret, but they say the engine runs better on it than on petrol. We understand the gas is obtained from oil by some secret cracking process, and the experiments are preliminaries for Airship work. Experiments are shortly to be commenced in the laboratories on a small Diesel engine of the aircraft type. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/S.S.Tresilian. | ||
