X 300a 58 G.W. Hancock, Esq., Hotel de France, Chateauroux, Indre, FRANCE. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth.25/KW.9.6.36. 32-EX Clutch. Herewith N.Sch.4817, which shows the arrangement of the Ph.III clutch modified to take driven plates with thicker facings and stronger rivetting, as a precaution against the trouble you have had on 32-EX. We are sending you one of these plates, which is the latest production type except that the rivet holes in the facings are drilled and not moulded. The oilflinger is of the original size, but will be satisfactory. We are also sending you the packing ring and some adjusting screws. We have none of the longer cover bolts ready and you will have to use the ones you've got, leaving out the spring washers and punching the ends to lock the nuts. The modification to the position of the oil holes in the operating sleeve guide is not absolutely necessary, and can be omitted. We have inspected the run out of the plate to ensure that the clutch will free properly, and have found it O.K. The centre plate is made of rather soft material, however, and can easily be bent out of truth unless handled carefully. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Smth. <- LS | ||
