ESSAI DE Comparative tests on two automobiles, for Speed and full consumption
DEMANDÉ PAR Requested by Mr. A.{Mr Adams} DUBONNET, 114 Boulevard Maurice Barrès at Neuilly sur Seine

EXÉCUTÉ Performed at the Autodrome of Linas-Montlhéry on March 23rd, 1936

The two cars tested are of the same make and are both equipped with the same stock engine, of the 8 cylinder V - type, with 3 1/16" bore and 3 3/4" stroke.

The stock car is equipped with a limousine body and its gear ratio, by actual measurement, is 4,11 to 1.

The other car has a gear ratio of 2,92 to 1. It has been equipped by Mr. Dubonnet with a streamlined body of the Dolphin type, with a vertical fin at the rear. The body has seating capacity for four people, two of which are seated directly at the front of the car. The engine has been displaced from its regular position on the stock chassis and moved to the rear. This car is also equipped with an electro-magnetic clutch.

Tests

Before starting the tests, the two cars were weighed.
The stock car weighed 1.400 kilograms, or 3.086 lbs with no passengers but with a fuel supply of 60 liters, or 15,82 U.S. Gals. of gasoline.

The streamlined car weighed 1.385 kilograms, or 3.042 lbs, with no passengers, but with a fuel supply of 70 liters, or 18.5 U.S.Gals of gasoline.

Both cars went through all tests with 4 persons aboard.
