RG.{Mr Rowledge} [strikethrough] HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} LR.{Mr Ellor} [strikethrough] } FROM R.{Sir Henry Royce} ORIGINAL RECEIVED R1/M16.10.28. X4550 We shall be very glad to know what you consider the best form of positive blower to use for a supercharger. In the first instance we would like one to be used with our 20HP. engine, direct driven from the front end of the crankshaft. We assume this would be a reasonable speed to drive such a blower, which would be up to 3500 revs. The blower should be capable of discharg- ing 50 cub. ft. of air at 1 1/2 atmospheres per 1000 revs. Axially it should be as short as possible as we shall want all the space possible for fitting in a clutch. (the blower) I assume this/will be of the Rootes type with external enclosed gear wheels, and a 2 or 3 lobed propeller. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
