Dear Pilkington,

Many thanks for your letter of June 18th.

I note the explanation of the present position with regard to A.C.9. bearings and am glad you are going to continue using them, at least until you have more complete evidence as to some of the trouble which has been experienced.

I expect Spurrier has told you that somebody has quoted you as saying I stated that A.C.9. had been abandoned by our Company. Did you ever make this statement? If so, was it as a result of any conversation I had with you?

You will appreciate that I want to get the matter cleared up as we want to work amicably with the Wellworthy people and we cannot do so under the present circumstances.
