We have carried out further tests to confirm that the modifications carried out on the 4-speed box WEYE have made it reliable. For this test the original springs were fitted to the plungers on the selector rods. The car was run for 1 hour maximum torque 1st. speed. The gear did not work out. The car was also run for half an hour full power maximum torque on reverse. The gear did not work out. Examination of the box after this test shewed that all the parts were in very good condition. We are now reasonably satisfied that the box is reliable. The point we have not satisfactorily proved yet, is which of the modifications has made the improvement. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
