EXHAUST CUTOUT AND CONTROLS. Origin. To stop valve from rattling - and to simplify controls. Experimental Test Report. The scheme has simplified the controls, the spring toggle now being part of the silencer. It has no tendency to cause wear and rattle in joints of controls. Road Test Report. This has been fitted to 7-EX and is now running in France. Tests before car left England proved that the cutout operated satisfactorily.
