BENTLEY III REAR AXLE SHAFT TESTS.

Herewith statement of running times, speeds and loads for the two types of shaft - 45 m/m and 40 m/m bearings - tested to date :-

45 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}
1.0 ton. 1,000 R.P.M. 101 hours.
1.5 " 667 " 100 "
2.0 " 500 " 111 3/4 " *

* Noise developed approximately 20 hours before rig was stopped.

40 m/m.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore}
1.0 Ton. 1,000 R.P.M. 100 hours.
1.5 " 667 " 100 "
2.0 " 500 " 75 "

The shafts, bearings, etc. are herewith submitted for your inspection, but we would like them back later for crack testing.
