STRENGTHENED 3RD. SPEED DOGS. SENIOR RATIONALISED GEARBOX.

We attach herewith tracings of the details of the strengthened 3rd. speed dogs for the Senior Gearbox of the Rationalised Programme, shown on PD.477. The scheme for the dogs is PD.495. A list of new details and the pieces superseded is appended.

Since the gearbox to PD.477 has not been made we have applied the modification to the standard ratio original box which we believe, according to the specification is the box fitted to 33.G.VII (Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}'s special), as we understood it is this car that may desire the modification.

We might like to use these dogs for direct gear as well as third gear, but we have not done so as this would complicate the test; but it should be done eventually and before we make a box to PD.477. A new cutter is required.

Will you please return the originals with a set of prints.
